Milwaukee — A 61-year-old man is recovering in the hospital after a violent assault by a group of individuals on Monday night. The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. near Brady Street and Arlington Place, where surveillance footage revealed a disturbing scene of multiple attackers surrounding the victim.
Witnesses described hearing loud arguing and screaming in the moments leading up to the attack, but the motives behind the confrontation remain unclear. One nearby resident, who chose to remain anonymous, recounted the harrowing sounds, calling them “terror screaming.” The noise left neighbors unsettled, with many expressing concern that such extreme violence was occurring in their community.
By the time emergency responders arrived, the victim was unconscious and had to be transported to a hospital for treatment. Neighbors have voiced grievances over what they perceive as a troubling trend in local violence, noting that altercations have become a frequent occurrence in the area, reportedly happening almost every weekend.
Residents attribute the rise in incidents to large groups gathering in the vicinity, often exhibiting public intoxication without patronizing local businesses. This pattern of behavior was highlighted earlier this year when authorities shut down an unruly Halloween party on Brady Street.
In connection with the assault, Milwaukee police have arrested two men and a woman, all in their 20s. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are actively seeking additional suspects involved in the incident.
During the arrest, a police officer sustained injuries after being pushed into a K-9 unit, leading to a dog biting both the officer and one of the suspects. Both individuals received medical attention for their injuries.
Law enforcement officials are urging anyone with information about the attack to come forward, emphasizing the community’s role in enhancing safety and cooperation with investigations. The residents’ fears highlight a broader concern about public safety and the need for effective measures to address ongoing disturbances in the neighborhood.
