Middletown’s Mighty Inning: 13 Runs Rally to Impressive 17-0 Shortened Game Victory

Middletown, PA – In an overwhelming display of offensive prowess, Middletown High School’s baseball team clinched a decisive victory, defeating Steelton-Highspire with a final score of 17-0 in a game that lasted only three innings due to the mercy rule. The highlight of the match came early as Jacob Miller launched a 2-run home run in a 13-run barrage during the second inning.

Alongside Miller’s powerful performance, Mason Stiffler contributed significantly to the team’s success, going 1-for-3, which included a bases-clearing double. He later brought in another run with a well-timed groundout. The offensive contributions were widespread, with Landon Keyser driving in three runs through a two-run single and an RBI from a base on balls.

Contributions also came from Landon Cochran, Brendan Fox, and Eli Webb, each adding two RBIs to the scoreboard. Additionally, Joe Gassert and Michael Swartz chipped in with one RBI each, rounding out a balanced offensive effort from the Blue Raiders.

On the mound, Stiffler was equally effective, throwing all three innings, allowing just one hit, and striking out four batters. His command and composure prevented Steelton-Highspire from gaining any momentum throughout the game.

With this victory, Middletown improves their season record to 6-3. Conversely, Steelton-Highspire continues to search for their first win of the season, now standing at 0-8. The game serves as a crucial midpoint assessment for both teams, with Middletown looking to maintain momentum in their season, and Steelton-Highspire aiming to regroup and seek improvement.
