Miami-Dade County, Florida — A stabbing incident in the southwestern region of Miami-Dade has left three men injured, with one in critical condition, while a suspect faces multiple charges. Authorities from the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office arrested 48-year-old Daniel López, who is accused of attacking the victims after alleging that they had stolen his wallet. The violent confrontation occurred around 4:30 a.m. at a residence on Southwest 16th Street. Witnesses reported that López, upon realizing his wallet was missing, turned on the group with a knife, resulting in serious injuries for all three men, one of whom suffered a head wound.
After the attack, López fled the scene, prompting a significant manhunt involving tracking dogs and a helicopter. His escape ended the next day when law enforcement discovered him hiding beneath an abandoned boat in a nearby field after he jumped from a third-floor balcony. He was taken into custody and processed at the Turner Guilford Correctional Center.
López is charged with three counts of attempted second-degree murder and one count of resisting arrest without violence. In a statement to officers, he claimed innocence, asserting that the victims were drug users and that he was wrongly accused.
