Manhunt Underway for Gunman After Fatal Shooting at West Seattle Restaurant

Seattle, WA — A fatal shooting in West Seattle on Wednesday afternoon has prompted an intensive search for the suspected gunman by local police. Officials stated that a man was killed in what appears to be a targeted attack, raising tensions in the community as detectives piece together the motive.

The incident occurred around 4 p.m. in the 4600 block of 36th Avenue Southwest. Authorities described the suspect as a Black male in his 20s or early 30s, dressed entirely in black and wearing a surgical mask, who was last seen fleeing the scene on foot.

The Seattle Police Department has warned locals that the suspect might still be armed and urged anyone with information to keep their distance and contact authorities immediately. Detective Brian Pritchard emphasized the importance of community assistance, advising residents to not approach the suspect but rather to immediately call 911.

According to police, the 29-year-old victim was employed at the Seattle Soul Kitchen, which was the scene of the shooting. Witnesses reported that the suspect entered the business and opened fire on the victim in the presence of several patrons.

Responding officers found the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was quickly transported to Harborview Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.

At present, no arrests have been made, and the motive behind the shooting remains under investigation. Detective Pritchard has reassured the community that there is no broader threat to public safety based on the current evidence.

A local resident expressed concern over the nature of the shooting, noting that the randomness of such violence could make everyday activities feel unsafe. “If it turns out that it was a little bit more of a random shooting, then I will have to think a little more about whether I’m able to walk on the street and go get my coffee alone, like at any time of day,” the resident told media.

Police are continuing their efforts to gather information and have requested that anyone with knowledge about the incident come forward to assist in resolving the case.
