GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. – In a horrifying incident at a gas station in Gwinnett County, a man was left with a broken back and stab wounds following a brutal attack. The family of the victim provided details of the assault, shedding light on the severity of the situation.
Last Monday, Warren Crayton, 37, was apprehended by Duluth police for reportedly carrying out unprovoked assaults on two individuals in the same vicinity before fleeing a shopping center the previous week. Surveillance footage of the attack was shared with local media, revealing the assailant, clad in a blue shirt, repeatedly kicking the victim before making a quick escape.
Authorities disclosed that Crayton had assaulted Alfonso Peralta, an employee at a car wash within the Shell gas station premises, leaving the victim with a fractured back. Peralta’s family launched a GoFundMe campaign to aid in covering medical expenses and daily living costs, emphasizing the extent of his injuries, which also included stab wounds.
According to the GoFundMe page, Peralta sought refuge inside the gas station as the perpetrator targeted a group at the car wash. The family detailed the merciless attack that led to severe injuries, leaving Peralta immobilized with a damaged back. The victim remains hospitalized with a long road to recovery, with his ability to walk again possibly months away.
The violence unfolded in a separate incident involving a 16-year-old victim who was punched without cause outside a local Kroger store. A motive for the attacks was not immediately clear as the victims expressed shock over the sudden and unprovoked violence.
