Milton Keynes, England – A man named Wesley Atick has been sentenced to life in prison with a minimum term of 15 years for the brutal murder of John Davies in an underpass in Wavendon Gate. The victim, John Davies, tragically succumbed to head injuries sustained during the vicious assault. Atick, 26, from Glebe Farm, pleaded guilty to the murder charge and was sentenced at Oxford Crown Court.
According to a post-mortem examination, the cause of John Davies’ death was determined to be blunt force trauma to the head. Thames Valley Police reported that Atick carried out the attack by kicking, punching, and stamping upon the victim. Detective Chief Inspector Will Crowther of the police major crime unit described Atick as a violent and dangerous individual whose actions led to the unnecessary loss of John Davies’ life.
The fatal attack occurred following a night where Atick and Davies had been drinking together. Detective Crowther noted that there were no warning signs of the extreme violence Atick would unleash that evening. Despite being sentenced, Atick refused to provide a full account of the events, choosing to remain silent during police interviews.
The senseless violence committed by Atick has deeply impacted John Davies’ family, causing immense sadness and heartbreak. Detective Crowther expressed relief that Atick has been held accountable for his actions and emphasized the closure and protection the lengthy prison sentence brings to the community. While the exact motive behind Atick’s brutal attack remains unknown, justice has been served for the victim and his loved ones affected by this tragedy.
