RICHMOND HEIGHTS, OH – In a heartbreaking turn of events, Richmond Heights was the scene of a tragic incident involving a fatal shooting followed by the suspect’s suicide. Shamar Summerall, 23, reportedly ended his own life after allegedly shooting Mariah Sanders while she was pushing a stroller on Tuesday evening.
Police were called to the 444 Park Apartments around 5:30 p.m. following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they found Sanders had been shot and killed. Thankfully, the infant in the stroller was unharmed during the incident.
Authorities have classified the situation as a domestic violence case. Summerall, who had a history of legal issues, was discovered dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound hours later, bringing an end to an intense search by law enforcement.
