Indio, California – A jury has affirmed the death penalty for Jose Vladimir Larin Garcia, who was found guilty of the execution-style murders of four people in Palm Springs in 2019. The victims – Carlos Campos-Rivera, Yuliana Garcia, Jacob Montgomery, and Juan Duarte-Raya – were tragically killed in a series of violent events, leaving a lasting impact on their families and communities.
On the night of the murders, Larin Garcia was involved in a car ride with three of the victims when he met up with Campos-Rivera near the gate of an apartment complex. Following the encounter, Larin Garcia shot Campos-Rivera and then a loud crash was heard a few blocks away, where the bodies of the other victims were found with targeted gunshot wounds to the head. The heinous nature of the crimes, which included allegations of lying in wait and multiple victims, made Larin Garcia eligible for a death sentence.
