A 21-year-old man from Sebastopol, a town south of Ballarat, has been charged with her murder, and is set to appear before the Ballarat Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
McGuire, who was reported missing by her family on Friday morning, was discovered lifeless near State Forest Road in Scarsdale, south-west of Ballarat, inside a burnt-out vehicle. Following the tragic discovery, two men, ages 21 and 22 and both from Sebastopol, were arrested by authorities. The 22-year-old was later released, while the 21-year-old was charged with murder on Monday afternoon.
