RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA – A tragic incident has led to the arrest of a man in connection with the death of his girlfriend, who was found unresponsive in a tent off Fayetteville Road. Authorities have identified the suspect as Joe Anthony Jr., 57, who now faces charges of murder and assault inflicting serious bodily injury in the case involving Dorothy Smith, 50.
Deputies from the Wake County Sheriff’s Office were alerted to a potential overdose situation on Tuesday night in the 7100 block of Fayetteville Road, leading them to discover Smith in a critical condition.
