Tuscaloosa, Alabama – A 30-year-old man faces charges of capital murder in connection with the shooting death of a 35-year-old man in front of his 10-year-old daughter, as reported by authorities.
In the early hours of Sunday morning, the Tuscaloosa Police Department responded to a shooting incident on Virginia Drive in Tuscaloosa. The victim, identified as Jakeria Rashaad May, known as “Keith” to family members, was found with multiple gunshot wounds after an altercation at his residence.
May was rushed to DCH Regional Medical Center but tragically succumbed to his injuries. The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit initiated an investigation into the shooting, led by Capt. Jack Kennedy of the sheriff’s office.
Following the collection of evidence and witness statements, detectives identified Terrelle Devonte Williams as the suspect in the case. Working in collaboration with the U.S. Marshals Task Force, authorities managed to locate Williams, who was subsequently arrested and charged with capital murder. He is currently being held without bond at the Tuscaloosa County Jail.
