MANASSAS, VIRGINIA – A man facing charges of murder and carjacking has confessed to the fatal shootings of two women in a Manassas apartment last week. Edward James Jackson Bland, 36, is being charged with two counts of second-degree murder, carjacking, and three counts of using a firearm in the commission of a felony, according to court documents.
Investigators revealed that Jackson Bland admitted to authorities that he had killed the two women during a robbery, stating that “they had to die.” The victims, identified as 34-year-old Leann Renee Harris and 22-year-old Asia Payne, were both found shot to death in the apartment.
