The crash occurred at the intersection of George Dieter Drive and Pellicano Drive on the East Side of El Paso, where Pena rear-ended a vehicle driven by 42-year-old Isidro Ruiz Jr., resulting in Ruiz’s tragic death.
Authorities revealed that Pena was driving a 2020 Nissan Rouge south on George Dieter Drive when the collision occurred in the early hours of the morning. The investigation uncovered that Pena was allegedly intoxicated at the time of the crash, leading to the murder charge as a result of a felony committed due to his third DWI offense.
