Barpeta, Assam – A minor disagreement at a school escalated into a violent confrontation on Tuesday in Assam’s Barpeta district, where a man from an indigenous community was brutally attacked by a group representing a different community.
Reports indicate that Jawar Khan of Surpura village led the assault, resulting in severe injuries to the victim, identified as Pranob Das, a resident of Bamunbari village in Bhawanipur’s Barpeta district. During the altercation, Pranob was not the only one harmed, as Bikash Das, Mausum Das, and Konjyoti Talukdar also sustained injuries.
Authorities have initiated an investigation to apprehend those responsible for the violent assault against the indigenous individuals. Police are working diligently to identify and bring the culprits to justice.
