Hull Businessman Jailed After Violent Attack Leaves Ex-Girlfriend Mentally and Physically Shattered

Hull City, England – A Hull businessman, Lance Cator, has been sentenced to two years in jail after pleading guilty to assaulting his ex-girlfriend in a violent attack at his penthouse. The victim, a 46-year-old woman, suffered extensive injuries, including a broken nose, black eyes, and severe physical trauma. The assault occurred on February 12 last year, leaving the woman in a state of distress both mentally and physically.

Initially facing a more serious charge of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, Cator saw this charge dropped before his sentencing. The prosecution revealed that the altercation took place after Cator had been drinking with friends at his pub, the Telstar 2, in Hull. The victim had gone to the pub to find him, resulting in an argument that escalated when they returned to his dwelling.

During the dispute at his sixth-floor apartment, prosecutors stated that Cator criticized the victim’s ironing, leading to a heated exchange. The situation took a turn for the worse when Cator, expressing disdain for material possessions, began destroying his own clothing. Subsequently, he physically attacked the victim, leaving her with severe injuries and in need of medical attention.

The victim, who had been in a relationship with Cator for over three years, recounted the harrowing incident in detail, highlighting the emotional and physical toll it has taken on her. She shared her struggles with mental health, the extended recovery period, and the ongoing physical issues resulting from the assault, such as breathing difficulties and dental problems.

Cator’s account of the events, claiming self-defense and minimal intoxication, conflicted with the victim’s version of the events. Despite his attempts to justify his actions, the severity of the attack and its lasting impact on the victim were undeniable. The sentencing served as a measure of justice for the victim, emphasizing the consequences of domestic violence and the importance of holding perpetrators accountable for their actions.
