Grieving Community Holds Vigil for Family Destroyed in East Lansdowne Shooting and Fire

EAST LANSDOWNE, Pennsylvania – The East Lansdowne community in Delaware County came together for a vigil to honor the Le family, who tragically lost their lives in a shooting and house fire. Pink and blue balloons were released into the sky as loved ones gathered to remember Xuong Le, his wife Britni McLaughlin-Le, and their three children. All five family members lost their lives in the massive fire that consumed their home on Lewis Avenue in East Lansdowne.

During the vigil, Britni McLaughlin-Le’s father, John McLaughlin, shared about his daughter’s life, revealing that she and Xuong had been married for 17 years. Authorities believe Xuong Le’s brother, Canh Le, was the shooter in this tragic incident. Canh Le not only took the lives of the family members but also shot and injured two police officers before the house was engulfed by flames.

As the community mourns the loss of the Le family, friends and loved ones remember the vibrant lives of 17-year-old NaTalya, 13-year-old NaKayla, and 10-year-old Xavier. NaKayla’s friends emphasize that she will never be forgotten and describe her as an amazing girl, a talented dancer, and an incredible friend.

The tragedy unfolded with a 911 call reporting a shooting involving a child, which was followed by a massive fire at the home on Lewis Avenue. Canh Le’s mother details hearing an argument between him and his 13-year-old niece before he went to grab a gun, leading to the devastating outcome.

The community continues to grieve the loss of the Le family, determined to cherish their memories and ensure that their legacies live on. As the healing process begins, the owner of the dance studio where NaKayla was a dancer expresses the impact of her loss and the dedication of a competition dance in her honor throughout the season. The incident has left the East Lansdowne community in deep pain, as neighbors and friends grapple with the loss of the Le family.
