FALL RIVER, Mass. — Four individuals have been charged in connection with a fatal shooting in Fall River, Massachusetts, including a man who is currently on the run and wanted for questioning in another double homicide in the city in 2021, authorities announced on Wednesday.
The Bristol County grand jury indicted two men on murder charges and two others on lesser charges in relation to the May 13 killing of Diamonte Odom, according to the district attorney’s office. Odom was fatally shot in the face on County Street, near Flint Street, late that night and succumbed to his injuries hours later at Rhode Island Hospital.
Tajon Saxon and Qanif Johnson, both 26, were indicted on murder and gun charges by the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office. Saxon was added to the state’s most wanted fugitive list by Massachusetts State Police on Wednesday.
Saxon is also being sought in connection with a separate triple shooting that resulted in the deaths of a 14-year-old and a 29-year-old on May 18, 2021. Authorities are urging anyone with information on Saxon’s whereabouts to contact the police.
Johnson, who is also facing drug charges, is currently in custody in Rhode Island for charges related to a separate killing there. It is unclear when he will be extradited to Massachusetts to face the new charges.
Additionally, Dioni Tavarez-Leonirio, 25, has been indicted on a charge of accessory to murder after the fact and arraigned in Fall River Superior Court. He is being held on $5,000 bail. Devin Alves, 18, was indicted on drug charges and is being held on $7,500 bail after appearing in Fall River Superior Court.
The identity of the legal representation for the suspects was not immediately available.
