The court learned that Bowers had been released from jail just one day before the murder, having served a sentence for criminal damage. On the day of the incident, Bowers, along with two women, had been consuming alcohol at the flat before a dispute arose.
Following an argument, Bowers brutally attacked Bryan by punching and kicking him, leaving him with severe injuries. Bryan was later found on the kitchen floor by police and paramedics, rushed to Southmead Hospital in Bristol, but succumbed to his injuries two days later. Described as a gentle soul by his loved ones, Bryan’s death has left a massive void in the lives of his family and friends, especially his sister Holly Bryan.
In a statement during the court proceedings, Holly expressed the heart-wrenching experience of having to make the decision to disconnect her brother from life support.
