Miami Gardens, Fla. — A man is in custody following the fatal shooting of his girlfriend’s stepfather during an argument at their shared home. Sylvester Jordan, 32, faced a judge over the weekend after the incident, which took place last Thursday.
The victim, identified as Yasmany Rodriguez Fernandez, was reportedly involved in a dispute with Jordan regarding the presence of Jordan’s dog in the household. According to police, this disagreement escalated tragically in the front yard of the home on Northwest 177th Terrace, where both men were living alongside Jordan’s girlfriend and their infant child.
