Orlando, FL – Over a year after a Florida woman was found fatally shot in her bed, law enforcement officials have arrested her boyfriend and the father of her three children, alongside another man implicated in the crime. The arrests stem from a complex investigation following the January 13, 2024, incident, which officials initially suspected was a home invasion gone fatally wrong.
Porshe Streeter, 30, was sleeping next to her children in their Orlando home when she was killed. Orange County Sheriff’s Office reported this week that significant breakthroughs in evidence led to the apprehension of Saun Rainge Jr., Streeter’s live-in boyfriend, and Benjamin Garmon, an associate of Rainge. Both men face charges of first-degree murder.
The arrest report unfolds a chilling narrative. On the night of the tragedy, Rainge called 911 to report the shooting. Responding officers discovered him with a non-fatal gunshot wound. Rainge directed officers to the bedroom where Streeter was found dead, claiming that he had spoken to her moments before and that he had been coerced into the apartment by a gunman.
Initially, Rainge recounted a harrowing tale of how an intruder had followed him into the residence and subsequently shot Streeter as she attempted to reach for her phone. He insisted that he had remained to help her fight for her life on their son’s plea.
However, inconsistencies emerged as the investigation deepened. According to the Orange County Sheriff’s detective who analyzed crime scene evidence and the medical examiner’s reports, there was a significant time lapse between Streeter’s death and Rainge’s 911 call. Forensic analysis suggested that she had already been deceased for hours due to the state of her injuries and early signs of decomposition.
Further inquiry showed that Rainge was not authorized to be at the residence at the time of the murder, contradicting his earlier claim of being there to check on Streeter and their children. Investigators uncovered text messages substantiating that Streeter had restricted Rainge’s access to the home.
Adding another layer to the case, security footage and witness accounts pointed investigators to Benjamin Garmon, identified both via video evidence and the couple’s 10-year-old child, who corroborated Garmon’s physical presence at the scene.
Both Rainge and Garmon were subsequently taken into custody. Details on their legal representation or plea status are yet to be released, and online court documents do not currently reflect their criminal proceedings.
