Dive Team Unearths Nearly 100 Vehicles in Chicago River

CHICAGO, IL – A recent expedition by a specialized dive team in the Chicago River uncovered an unexpected discovery of nearly 100 submerged vehicles. The team, known as Chaos Divers, initially set out to locate a single car but ended up finding a trove of cars piled in clusters, some containing as many as 19 vehicles.

The team employs advanced sonar technology to aid in solving missing persons and cold cases, aiming to provide closure to affected families. Their recent mission began at the Richard J. Daley Boat Launch, where they meticulously scanned the waters, ultimately cataloging dozens of cars.

Among the submerged vehicles, the divers are particularly interested in those found alone, as these may suggest an accident, self-harm, or potential foul play. This focus is part of their ongoing investigation into the disappearance of Stefania and Edward Andrews, who vanished on May 15, 1970.

The couple was last seen leaving a cocktail party on Michigan Avenue, and reports suggest they had been drinking before Edward attempted to drive home. It’s believed their car, a yellow 1969 Oldsmobile, might have ended up in the river after a series of erratic driving maneuvers.

Despite clearing 75 vehicles from the list of potential links to the Andrews case, the dive team remains committed to their search. None of the vehicles examined so far contained human remains, and the elusive Oldsmobile has yet to be found.

The operation is conducted in collaboration with local police, who have been alerted to the findings. A car removed from the river recently was obstructing boat traffic, prompting its extraction by the Chicago Police Department.

Chaos Divers, led by Jacob Grubbs and Derrick Longo, continue their efforts in the river, sifting through the remaining submerged vehicles. Their mission is far from over as they strive to uncover the truth behind the Andrews’ disappearance and any other mysteries hidden beneath the river’s surface.

The team plans to continue their work in the area for the foreseeable future, determined to solve the puzzles the river holds.
