West Orange, New Jersey – A man was shot and killed on Lakeside Avenue Sunday afternoon, leading to a police investigation in the area. The victim was found dead inside a dark-colored Subaru, which had several bullet holes and a shattered window.

Eyewitnesses reported hearing several gunshots before a group of officers arrived at the scene and roped off the area. Friends of the victim revealed that he was employed at TIRS Recovery Service and Towing and was in charge of the financial operations. They claimed that the shooting followed a confrontation with a disgruntled customer who allegedly became the gunman.

John Burlew, a friend of the victim, recounted a conversation he had with the victim just before the fatal shooting, in which the suspect had paid the fee for his towed vehicle before inexplicably returning to shoot the victim.

The motive behind the shooting remains unclear, and authorities are conducting a thorough investigation of the incident. The company where the victim worked, TIRS Recovery Service and Towing, is located on the corner of Ashland Ave, where people retrieve their towed vehicles. The victim’s role in the company’s financial operations has raised questions about the possible motives for the attack.
