Blawnox, Pennsylvania – A tragic shooting at a warehouse in Blawnox has resulted in the death of one woman and left a man in critical condition. The incident, which occurred at the Tri-Arc Manufacturing warehouse on Fountain Street early Tuesday morning, prompted a swift response from police and paramedics.
Residents in the quiet neighborhood of Blawnox were shocked by the violence that unfolded at the warehouse, describing it as a peaceful area where such events are rare. The police arrived on the scene to find an active shooter situation, with workers alerting them to the ongoing threat inside the building.
Amidst the chaos, officers managed to apprehend the suspect, identified as 42-year-old Sean Black of Allegheny Township, Westmoreland County, without further incident. Two firearms were recovered at the scene, and two victims were located inside the warehouse. Tragically, 30-year-old Courtney Smith was pronounced dead, while 26-year-old Daniel Zoelle was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
Authorities believe the shooting was related to a domestic dispute, as Smith was Black’s estranged girlfriend and had recently been in a relationship with Zoelle. All three individuals were employees at Tri-Arc Manufacturing, prompting the closure of the plant following the incident.
A spokesperson for Tri-Arc expressed the company’s cooperation with law enforcement and announced the temporary closure of the facility in light of the tragedy. Meanwhile, Black faces multiple charges, including homicide, attempted homicide, aggravated assault, and reckless endangerment. He is currently detained at the Allegheny County Jail awaiting a preliminary arraignment.
