Kevin Kletzander, who is currently living in a local hostel, faces charges of committing assault that causes harm. During a court appearance, it was noted by authorities that he exhibited no remorse for his actions, which were characterized as a targeted attack against a woman. The incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. on May 23, and Kletzander reportedly left the scene calmly, continuing his walk toward George’s Street despite being surrounded by witnesses.
According to Garda Niamh Dunne, who testified at Dublin District Court, the attack was described as particularly alarming due to its unprovoked nature. “I have significant safety concerns for the public, particularly any women he may encounter,” Dunne stated, emphasizing the gravity of the situation. The tourist, who has not been named and did not attend the bail hearing, sustained a deep cut on her temple and visible bruising around her eye, leaving her in shock and fearing permanent scarring.
