Ludhiana, India – Chaos erupted at a local eatery in Moti Nagar when a group of men allegedly attacked the establishment’s owner and a staff member after being asked to refrain from drinking alcohol on the premises. The incident, which included the vandalism of the shop and a robbery, has led to the arrest of one individual, with police pursuing other suspects.
According to the police report, the confrontation started when the owner, Parminder Singh, and his employee noticed that several customers who had purchased chicken began consuming alcohol on the upper floor of the eatery. Upon being confronted by the worker identified only as Babbu, one of the customers, Shah Faizal, reportedly responded with physical aggression.
The situation escalated when Parminder Singh intervened to reinforce the no-alcohol policy, only to be met with violence himself. During the altercation, the group caused significant damage to the property.
Further complicating the incident was the involvement of another customer, Advocate Gurpreet Singh Bhalla, who attempted to calm the situation. Instead, he became a victim of assault and was robbed of a gold chain with a locket.
The chaos didn’t end at physical violence and verbal threats; the group vandalized the property before fleeing the scene, leaving behind a trail of destruction and fear among other patrons and staff.
Assistant Sub-Inspector Karamjeet Singh from the Moti Nagar police station confirmed the details of the event and stated that multiple charges have been filed. “The offenses include voluntarily causing hurt, snatching, causing damage, rioting with deadly weapons, and unlawful assembly,” he explained. Authorities have since apprehended Shah Faizal, while efforts to identify and capture the remaining suspects are ongoing.
The incident at the chicken corner is a stark reminder of the potential volatility in seemingly everyday settings. It raises questions about public safety and the enforcement of regulations in places serving food and beverages.
Local residents and business owners expressed concern over the incident, emphasizing the need for stricter enforcement of public behavior standards to ensure safety. This event highlights a growing issue of public spaces being misused, leading to violence and disruption.
Efforts to maintain peace and uphold law and order in the bustling commercial area of Moti Nagar are being redoubled, as community leaders call for increased police presence and surveillance to deter such incidents in the future.
As the investigation continues, local authorities are calling on witnesses and anyone with information about the other involved suspects to come forward, promising confidentiality and protection. The community, still shaken, hopes for swift justice and measures to prevent similar occurrences, restoring a sense of security to the area.
