Cambridge, Maryland – A man from Cambridge faced charges following a violent altercation on May 30, where he allegedly assaulted another individual. The incident took place around 10:21 PM in the 400 block of Willis Street as reported by the Cambridge Police Department.
According to the authorities, officers responded to reports of a physical disturbance at the location. Upon arrival, they spoke with a witness and the victim who stated that Marco Ray Wilkes, 42, of Cambridge, MD, had allegedly strangled and struck the victim multiple times.
As the situation escalated, the witness intervened by using pepper spray on Wilkes, prompting him to flee the residence and cause damage to windows before being later found near Park Lane on foot. Wilkes initially evaded capture by escaping into a wooded area, but law enforcement eventually located him in the 500 block of Edgewood Avenue. He sustained injuries from the window damage and received medical treatment at the University of Maryland Shore Medical Center before being processed at the Cambridge Police Department.
Following his initial court appearance, Wilkes was remanded to the Dorchester County Department of Corrections without bond.
