Brutal Street Attack Leads to Five Arrests for Murder in Bega: Victim Identified as Gordon Kessey

Bega, Australia — Five individuals have been charged with murder in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 43-year-old man that took place in a park on the New South Wales South Coast. The deceased, identified as Gordon Kessey, succumbed to his injuries during the early hours of October 6, 2025, following what prosecutors described as a brutal attack.

Police were summoned to East Street around 2 a.m., where they found Kessey in critical condition with multiple stab wounds. Despite the immediate efforts of paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene. A 45-year-old man who also sustained stab injuries was transported to a hospital, where he has since been released.

In the wake of the incident, authorities launched a comprehensive investigation under the name Strike Force Nakstone. They examined several vehicles, seized a knife, and collected electronic devices, conducting searches in nearby Glebe Wetlands. Recently, after receiving tips from the public, police divers combed through private property and wetland areas, unearthing evidence for forensic analysis.

On November 20, four of the defendants—Benjamin Keith Robinson, 34; Dion Lloyd, 32; Kody Lloyd, 29; and 19-year-old Litisha Mundy—were apprehended and subsequently charged with murder. During their court appearance, police prosecutor Sergeant Chris Manning emphasized the severity of the attack, arguing it occurred “in the middle of the street and the backyard of someone’s home.”

Mundy’s attorney, Stewart Holt, advocated for her release on bail, highlighting her lack of a criminal background and proposing that she could stay with family in Goulburn under certain conditions. However, Magistrate Rosheehan O’Meagher expressed concerns, noting that the prosecution’s evidence appeared compelling and that the case would likely take years to resolve. Consequently, bail was denied for all four defendants, who are scheduled to next appear in court on January 19, 2026.

Following further investigations, Serkan Hosoglu, 48, was taken into custody on November 23 while at a Bega hospital. Facing murder charges, Hosoglu denied involvement in the incident, asserting that he was at home during the altercation. His lawyer proposed strict bail conditions, including a near house arrest scenario; however, prosecutors characterized Hosoglu’s actions as “unprecedented violence,” arguing that he was an active participant in the events that led to Kessey’s death.

Magistrate O’Meagher, reviewing the circumstances, deemed the allegations serious and indicative of a strong case from the prosecution. She denied bail, describing the incident as a “violent example” of murder, with significant evidence including video footage from witnesses. Hosoglu is also set to appear in court again on January 19.
