Bhopal School Seeks Security Following Violent Clash with Activist Group; Multiple Injuries Reported Amid Legal Tensions

Bhopal, India – Tensions remain high at a prominent Bhopal school following an incident last Thursday where a group of men reportedly assaulted a school secretary and his elderly father. The school, still recovering from the shock, has now called for police protection amid the ongoing investigation.

The city’s police force responded to the incident by filing a counter-FIR against the school’s senior administrators, including its 75-year-old chairman, on allegations of assault. As of now, no arrests have been made, leaving the school community on edge.

According to reports, members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), a student organization, are accused of entering the school premises and demanding money for enrollment purposes. The school’s refusal allegedly triggered the assault on secretary Abhinav Bhatnagar and his father, Gyanendra Bhatnagar.

In a statement, a visibly distraught Abhinav expressed his current state of health as dire due to multiple injuries sustained during the attack. “We want protection for the school and also demand recreation of the incident so that all facts can come to light,” he implored, highlighting the need for safety for both staff and students.

The police, represented by Investigating Officer Jagantah Partati, acknowledged the complexities of the case, confirming that witness statements will be recorded in due course. “No arrests have been made yet, but the investigation is ongoing,” Partati added.

At the heart of this escalating conflict is a counter-complaint lodged by one Shivansh Pandey, resulting in the controversial FIR against the school’s chairman and secretary. Despite Pandey’s injuries described by police as non-severe, marked only by scratches, authorities found the allegation substantive enough to warrant official accusations of assault.

This exchange of accusations and subsequent police action has cast a shadow over the school’s reputation and spilled over into the broader community. Many are now calling for a clearer and more expedited legal process to resolve the matter justly.

Police commissioner Harinarayanchari Mishra has assured the public and all parties involved that justice will be served fairly, striving to balance the scales in an increasingly complicated case. As the school seeks to regain its sense of security and trust, the city watches closely, hoping for a resolution that restores peace and order to the educational environment impacted by this unrest.
