Baby Killed in Texas Mom’s Intentional River Crash

FORT WORTH, TX – A tragic incident that unfolded in Fort Worth has taken a shocking turn as authorities reveal that a car crash into the Trinity River, which resulted in the deaths of a mother and her toddler, was an intentional act.

On the evening of March 22, 2025, responders were called to the Trinity River Bridge after reports of a car veering off the road and plunging into the water. Rescue divers swiftly entered the river, pulling 38-year-old Melanie Robinson from the submerged vehicle, but her young son, Jonas Allen, was missing.

The search for Jonas continued into the night, and his body was tragically found the following day, lifeless. The community was left in disbelief as investigators announced that the incident was not an accident but a deliberate act by Robinson.

Robinson, who was critically injured, was placed in a medically induced coma. Her family held out hope for her recovery, but she died three days later, leaving behind a community grappling with grief and unanswered questions.

The Fort Worth Police Department has classified Jonas’s death as a homicide, determining that Robinson intentionally drove into the river. Had she survived, she faced potential charges of capital murder for the death of a child under ten years old.

Authorities have not disclosed the details of their investigation, including any testimonies from family or witnesses, due to the sensitive nature of the case. As the investigation continues, the Fort Worth community is left to process the shocking revelation and the tragic loss of two lives.
