Arlington Man Accused of Murdering Woman While Monitored by Ankle Bracelet

ARLINGTON, TX – A 23-year-old man, Jacob Arriaga Guerrero, has been arrested and is facing serious charges following a violent crime spree that culminated in the death of a 63-year-old woman at her apartment complex. The woman was found unresponsive in a breezeway on Whisper Meadow Lane late Monday night, and she later died in the hospital.

The suspect, who was out on bond for a previous armed robbery, is believed to have been involved in a series of crimes over the past week. These included vehicle theft, armed robbery, and a hit-and-run incident that injured a pedestrian and a dog.

A witness at the apartment complex reported hearing a woman scream and saw Guerrero attacking her with a sharp object. In an attempt to stop the attack, the witness fired a shot into the ground, causing Guerrero to flee. Police were able to locate him using GPS data from an ankle monitor he was wearing.

Guerrero was apprehended after he was involved in a hit-and-run accident while driving a stolen SUV. Just days before, he had been released from the Tarrant County Jail after posting bond. He had been accused of stealing a truck with a gun inside and using that gun to commit a robbery at a Walmart.

The truck and firearm belonged to Brian McDaniel, who expressed relief at Guerrero’s arrest but also sorrow for the loss of life. McDaniel hoped that Guerrero’s apprehension would prevent further tragedies.

Guerrero is currently in custody at the Arlington Jail, facing multiple felony charges that could be upgraded pending the results of an autopsy. The community has been left reeling from the incident, with many neighbors expressing fear and sadness.

Arlington detectives are continuing their investigation into the attack, which they believe may have been a random act of violence.
