11-Year-Old Star Millena Brandão’s Tragic Battle with Health Issues Ends After 13 Heart Attacks

São Paulo, Brazil — Millena Brandão, a young and promising actress, tragically passed away on May 2 at the age of 11 after experiencing a series of heart attacks. Her health rapidly declined following her admission to Granjaú General Hospital on April 30, where she exhibited severe symptoms, including intense headaches, leg pain, drowsiness, and multiple fainting spells.

According to reports, Brandão suffered from difficulties that escalated quickly, leading to numerous cardiac arrests while in the care of medical staff. Her mother, Thays Brandão, expressed her devastation, saying that she is still searching for answers about the circumstances surrounding her daughter’s death.

“The doctors haven’t provided clarity about what truly happened. We are left with so many questions,” Thays stated. She detailed a harrowing account of the events leading to Millena’s passing, revealing that her daughter experienced as many as three cardiac arrests each day, culminating in a total of 13 during her hospital stay.

Initially, medical professionals considered the possibility that Millena was suffering from dengue fever, but tests ruled that out. Following further examinations, it was identified that she had a urinary tract infection and there were concerns about a potential brain tumor, although that diagnosis has not yet been confirmed.

In a deeply emotional moment, Thays recounted the heart-wrenching decision she and her husband made to turn off the life-support machines when it became clear that their daughter’s condition was irreversible. “We realized that allowing her heart to stop on its own would only prolong our suffering. It was a painful choice, but we believed it was the best for her,” she said.

The state and municipal health departments are reportedly launching an investigation to determine if there were any irregularities in Millena’s medical treatment. This inquiry aims to ensure accountability and transparency regarding her care.

Brandão captured the hearts of many, making her acting debut in October 2023 on Brazilian television and starring in productions like “A infância de Romeu e Julieta” and Netflix’s “Sintonia.” She had cultivated a significant following on social media, attracting nearly 200,000 followers on Instagram.

Following her daughter’s passing, Thays shared a heartfelt tribute on Instagram, recalling the joyous memories they had together. “I will cherish our time, and your spirit will remain with me forever,” she wrote alongside a touching image of Millena depicted with angelic features.

As the community reflects on the loss of this vibrant young talent, many are left mourning a life that ended far too soon and a career that held so much promise.
